Then walked to the bus station north of the water wheels where the Belgians had said to walk too in order to catch the No.7 bus to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain which lies about 20km to the north of Lijiang as they mentioned on the tour to Tiger Leaping Gorge, yesterday, that you can take a cable car all the way up to where the snow is. I found a No.7 bus straight away, got on and sat on the drivers side as I knew that the mountain would be on this side as we travelled towards it. I took a while for us to get going but then we set off and we reached the entrance to the mountain park where three uniformed people got on the bus with tickets. It costs some Y190 (14 GBP) to enter the park and then you have to pay extra for the cable car so today wasn’t going to be that cheap but hey, how many times do you get to go up a mountain without gasping for breathe? One Chinese girl on the bus seemed to be having a right old heated conversation with the officials over something – probably the price of things, no doubt. Anyway, the bus continued to a visitors centre where we all got off and I bought a ticket for the cable car – another170 which included Y20 for …
